Committees

The Dobbs Ferry PTSA has several committees working to enhance the experience of all students in our district. Read on to find the right committee for you!

    Diversity Committee

    The Diversity Committee serves as advocates and as an advisory board for the diverse community of parents, students and caregivers of the Dobbs Ferry schools.

    The Green Team

    The Green Team works with the Outdoor Classroom & Garden at Springhurst to run community events focused on gardening, sustainability, recycling and zero-waste.

    Special Education Committee

    The Special Education Committee is interested in better understanding the special education needs of our district and better addressing them through our work.

    Membership Committee

    The Membership Committee works to retain current PTSA members while recruiting new ones and welcoming them into our community. They also communicate with membership to determine what they want as members and what we can do better.     Rivertown Parents

    Rivertown Parents is a consortium of the PTSAs of Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington and Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown, along with Mercy College. Our mission is to promote and foster communications in the Rivertowns among parents, children and schools, and to provide educational resources to the community at large.     Fundraising Committee

    The newly established Fundraising Committee works to create programs that will be beneficial, informative and fun while also raising funds for the PTSA. If you are interested in participating in this committee, email fundraising.dfptsa@gmail.com.

    Building Bridges

    The goals of this program (K-5) are to increase students’ knowledge and understanding of people with different abilities, to provide hands-on experiences that increase awareness and to develop empathy for the challenges these individuals may face.     Wellness Committee

    The goal of the Wellness Committee is to share information and create programs to support the health and wellness of our students, staff members, and community. Email wellness.dfptsa@gmail.com for more information on getting involved.

    Safe Routes Committee

    The safety of our kids walking to school is one of the most important things in their daily life. The Safe Routes Committee works with the community to help make sure their route to school is a safe one. Email saferoutes.dfptsa@gmail.com for more information on getting involved.
